Soccer for Equity

The following article is from NY Times:

Society has it's own roles. And societies vary. When I first came to the US, to me it was shocking to see that soccer is a women thing. I guess later I got used to the idea, which proved that "a brain has a mind, once exposed to a different culture", indeed.

Yet when I saw this article, I remembered old days back home; where men were men and they did not only need balls to be one, they also had to play with them.

No surprise that soccer (football) is a men thing in Turkey but it is thought provoking to see women, that are willing to act like men to declare gender equity. While I think this is sort of a feminine assimilation and is triggered by a men dominant environment (since when acting masculine for equivalence makes sense?), I support the idea of "being out there" and to vie for the acceptance. Go girls!

Oh, thank you for that. It was one of the funniest things I've read today. :)
