The topic reminded me of Helen Fisher's book; "The First Sex". In this book, Fisher is taking an approach to women as the first sex (could be based on the information on estrogen). She wonders, "what life will be like, when women fully express their gender differences and work with men to solve the problems of an epoch more complex than any that humanity has yet experienced?".
When I read Karen's article, I thought of these words.. I thought maybe women are learning how to "be", in a world mostly empowered by men. Maybe medical writing is one of the aspects that women, with their dominance, will make a change. Who knows? I am looking forward to hearing more from Karen on gender differences and writing.
